This page says what this site keeps about you, and why.

Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to measure visits: how many people come, and which pages they look at. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga to tell one visit from the next.

Contact forms
When you send a message through a contact form on this site, your name, email address and message are sent by email to the owner of the web site whose form it is, with your browser's user agent and your IP address, and are kept by this site as a record of the message.

Accounts
When you sign up, this site keeps the details you give it: your name, username, email address, password (scrambled, not as you typed it) and your web site's name, address and description. It uses them to run your account and to send your visitors' messages to you. The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you aren't a robot, so your browser and IP address are sent to Cloudflare for that check. Logging in happens on members.freecontactus.com.

Tests of the site's design
Now and then we show visitors one of two versions of part of a page, to see which works better. So that you keep seeing the same version, your browser keeps a random id in a cookie called xp_id for a year, with xp_v (30 minutes) and xp_s (a year), which note the versions you've seen. They hold nothing about you, and we don't use your IP address for this. We count which version you saw and whether you clicked or signed up, in our own statistics, not Google's.

You can opt out. You'll then always see the usual version, and nothing is counted. Your choice is kept in a cookie called xp_optout for a year, on this browser.
